A Little About Me

I’m a Harvard professor, author, and speaker who has spent more than two decades investigating brainwashing, technology and media influence, and human behavior. I use stories, humor, and hand-drawn visual frameworks to make complex ideas easy to grasp — so you can see, in a new way, the hidden patterns shaping our world.

Through my books, keynotes, and consulting, I share insights built on years of investigation — helping you recognize these forces in your own life and respond with awareness.

It’s Not Just “Other People”

A friend once told me, “I’m too smart to be brainwashed.” But influence doesn’t work like that. It doesn’t come with a warning label — it seeps in through the stories we hear, the media we consume, and the people we trust.

We live in a time when newsfeeds are filled with contradictions, and even the most thoughtful among us can feel unsteady. It’s tempting to believe we’re on the outside looking in. But the truth is, we’re all part of the same system of influence.

No one is immune — influence works in ways we don’t always notice. The good news? Once you understand the patterns, you can spot them, question them, and choose for yourself.
